Dealing With a Loss
As the Total Restoration Philosophy states, we don't expect every customer to know everything to do during a loss. We want them to know our phone number and let us do the rest.
However, there are a few quick tips we can give that might help during a certain loss to achieve the best results possible in the end.
Water - during any water loss here are a few good tips:

Turn off electrical breaker to damaged area before you unplug electrical devices

Place aluminum foil under furniture legs where there is contact with wet carpet

Place draperies on coat hangers and hang on a rod

Pin up upholstered furniture skirts

Remove potted plants in contact with wet carpet

Remove all paper goods, shoes, etc that might stain the carpet

Do NOT use a vacuum cleaner to remove water

Do NOT place newspaper in traffic areas to walk on

Stay off floor as much as possible until Total Restoration has completely dried the floor material
Fire/Smoke - tips for handling smoke or fire damage:

Call 911 immediately to put out fire

Empty freezer and refrigerator if electricity is off and prop open doors to air out.

Inventory all of your contents on paper

Remove pets and plants to a clean environment.

Do NOT attempt to wipe surfaces or walls

Do NOT send smoke garments to an ordinary dry cleaner

Do NOT use TV's, stereos or electrical appliances until clean and checked
